How to Become a Volunteer
People interested in becoming a volunteer at Prairie Lakes Healthcare System need to complete an application for volunteer services. These applications are available from the Volunteer Services office or by calling 882-7716.
When the application is reviewed by the Volunteer Services Department, an appointment is made for an interview with the Coordinator of Volunteer Services. This interview gives the coordinator an opportunity to get to know the applicant's interests, skills, motivations, goals, and schedules. It also allows the volunteer an opportunity to assess the department and decide if volunteer service at Prairie Lakes Healthcare System will meet their personal goals.
The new volunteer participates in a general orientation to the facility and is given a tour before actually working. Volunteers receive training in the specific duties of their assignment from appropriate staff members.
