Dr. Johnston joined the Orthopedic team (Glacial Lakes Orthopaedics at the time) in August of 2010 after completing an orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and a sports medicine fellowship at the Minnesota Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Institute in Minneapolis, MN. Dr. Johnston treats a wide variety of orthopedic conditions and has advanced training in sports medicine and the care of injured athletes. Prior to coming to Watertown, Dr. Johnston was an assistant team physician for the University of Minnesota football and wrestling teams, and team physician for the Hamline University football and hockey teams. He currently provides sports medicine services for multiple high schools in the region. Dr. Johnston enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. He also enjoys fishing, hunting, and attending sporting events throughout the area.

Dr. Rieber joined the Orthopedic team (Glacial Lakes Orthopaedics at the time) in July 2002 after attending University of Minnesota Medical School and completing his Orthopedic Residency at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Rieber and his wife, Tammy, have three children. He enjoys many outdoor activities including aviation, hunting, skiing, snowmobiling, motorcycling, and home remodeling/building projects. He is active in several community organizations as well.

Dr. Vener grew up in Arlington, MN. After high school he attended the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN where he graduated with honors with his BA degree in Biology. He then attended medical school at the University of Minnesota School of Medicine and remained in Minnesota to complete his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Vener has been a surgeon in Watertown, SD since 1995. He and his partners built a rural orthopaedic practice, Glacial Lakes Orthopaedics, which transitioned to Prairie Lakes Orthopedics in 2022. His areas of interest include shoulder, sports medicine and adult reconstruction. Dr. Vener and his wife have two adult children and his hobbies include hunting, cooking, boating, scuba diving and watching baseball, both local and professional. Dr. Vener is an active board member of the Lake Area Zoological Society.
