Dr. Smith, Abby Gietzen and David Feist use a fiber optic handpiece to direct a beam of light. This beam brings energy to a specific site such as spider veins, acne, rosacea, warts, and sun damage.
Phototherapy (light therapy) services enable Prairie Lakes Dermatology to help patients who suffer from severe skin diseases by exposing the skin to ultraviolet light on a regular basis and under medical supervision. It can be more cost-effective for patients and may free them from potential medication side effects. Three different units of light therapy are available. PLHS is licensed to operate 81 acute care hospital beds including Labor and Delivery, Telemetry, Critical Care, and general hospital.
