Infant loss is an unfortunate reality for many expectant parents as they look to grow their families. Miscarriage and stillbirth are both terms describing pregnancy loss. Miscarriage is defined as a loss before 20 weeks of pregnancy, while stillbirth is considered to be 20 weeks of gestation or later. According to the CDC, About 1 pregnancy in 100 at 20 weeks of pregnancy and later is affected by stillbirth, and each year about 24,000 babies are stillborn in the United States.
