Prairie Lakes Radiology and Watertown Mayor Sarah Caron honored retiring Radiology Director, Tom Beaudry by naming December 13, 2018 Tom Beaudry Day. Mayor Caron's proclamation:
WHEREAS, Tom Beaudry is the Radiology Director of Prairie Lakes Healthcare System in Watertown, South Dakota; and
WHEREAS, Tom has dedicated the last 43 years of his life, 40 as a manager, to helping patients in our region by growing and improving radiology services; and
WHEREAS, Tom has been instrumental in bringing multiple new imaging service lines including Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, CT, MRI, DEXA and IMEX peripheral imaging to the community over the years; and
WHEREAS, Tom oversaw the merger of two Radiology Departments into one in 1986 when Memorial and St Ann’s Hospitals became Prairie Lakes Hospital; and
WHEREAS, Tom recognized a prospect in 2002 to work with Lake Area Tech and Mitchell Tech to start a satellite Radiologic Technology program with clinical sites located in Watertown. This program has graduated 67 Radiology Techs that had the opportunity to train in the Watertown area due to Tom’s vision; and
WHEREAS, Tom is truly the face of Radiology in Watertown; and
WHEREAS, Tom intends to retire at the end of December, 2018; and
WHEREAS, the Prairie Lakes Healthcare System Radiology Department desires to honor Tom.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Sarah Caron, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of Watertown, South Dakota, do hereby proclaim Thursday, December 13, 2018 as Tom Beaudry Day.
