Prairie Lakes Healthcare System (PLHS) is pleased to announce Becky Weitbrecht as the new Critical Care Unit and Respiratory Therapy Director. Weitbrecht’s position oversees the unit that cares for critically ill patients staying in the hospital.
Weitbrecht grew up in Webster, SD, where she currently resides with her husband Scott and four children Ethan, Zack, Morgan, and William. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time at the lake with family, camping, riding bike, and attending my children’s activities.
Her education includes a LPN degree from Lake Area Technical College in 2004, a RN degree from University of South Dakota in 2005, a Bachelor’s in Nursing degree from South Dakota State University in 2018, and is currently attending Western Governors University for her Masters in Nursing Leadership. With 15 years of nursing experience, Weitbrecht comes ready to lead. Her most recent roll was Director of Emergency and Cardiovascular Services at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital.
“I am passionate about making continuous improvements to better serve our patient’s needs,” said Weitbrecht. “I am excited to support the wonderful things currently happening at Prairie Lakes and help guide the ever-changing future of healthcare in the Watertown area.
