  • Buying sunscreen is like buying make-up: you have to try a lot of the different kinds before you find one that fits you and your family’s needs. Look for something that is broad-spectrum –  covers both UVA and UVB rays from the sun. You want something that is water-resistant and at least SPF30.
  • Protect your skin with sunscreen 365 days per year - harmful UV rays penetrate cloud cover and even in the winter the sun reflects off of snow and ice and can cause sun damage.
  • Everyone should be wearing sunscreen - everyday. Apply at least 15 minutes before sun exposure and reapply every two hours, no matter how powerful the SPF.
  • The sun’s rays are most intense between 10 am – 2 pm - shade will be your best friend.
  • We love hats! The wider brim the better in order to protect your ears and neck.
  • Sunglasses are also very important as the sun hurts our eyes as well as our skin.
