New Year, New You!
New Year, New You!

It's a New Year, Time for a New, Healthier You!

Small daily choices can have huge impacts on your life. A new year is the perfect opportunity to embrace a healthy lifestyle change this month.

The goal in this January challenge is to focus on goal setting that will set you up to successfully implement healthy lifestyle choices. We'll also turn off the "noise" so you can practice mindfulness.

In the middle of the month, it'll be time to make some serious changes in the kitchen. Improved health starts with the foods we ingest and how we fuel our bodies. The best way to ensure you make healthier food choices, is to be thoughtful about the foods you bring home. Shop for fresh fruit and veggies, try new recipes with lean meats and plenty of greens, skip the salty snacks, and drink at least 8 - 10 glasses of water per day.

Remember to keep your body active by shooting for at least 20 minutes of movement each day.

January New Year Calendar public

Prairie Lakes Healthcare System employees are invited to participate in these fun and simple challenges as a way to build accountability and share helpful healthy tips. Now, the public can follow along and give yourself points when you accomplish one of the suggested activities. Even if you're joining the challenge in the middle of the month, you can just start from the beginning and challenge yourself to follow the suggested activities for 31 days. As always, the activities listed are merely thought-starters. Get creative and find ways you can simply begin a new active and healthier lifestyle.
